One year down....

So tonight is the night! I'm really hoping for the best turn out. It's the one year anniversary since our lady The Embassy closed it's doors forever. Though I basically write about her each post thus far haha heres a bit of different news.

I'm pretty amped about this night. I'm definitely sleep deprived, and a little hung over.. my eyes still cross once in awhile when I get up to walk around haha. But I couldn't be more happy. So I have been accepted (I think) into a meeting next week with a production crew called wreckless to start talking about the documentary and to finally get something off the ground. I and by I, I mean we don't have a lot of money to spend on this whole thing so it's going to be very grass roots DIY which I am in love with. All I needed going into this was a bunch of people willing to help video tape or let me tape, edit, and be in this documentary to tell their story about Punk Rock in London circa 1980's until now. It's important, I think for each show goer to know where these local bands came from, and more importantly for these BANDS to know their city's history.

I'm hoping this meeting goes well and I can get this thing going with the immediate help of my good friend Dan. He's always been on top of everything about punk rock in london and it's going to be good to have the help. Along with everyone else in the group. (You know who you are.)
I also got an offer from a friend in Toronto to help produce and put a bit of money into it which is fantastic. It looks like people are on board and we will see who else pops up. There was a little bit of history dropped on me last night at a party, but I didn't find out as much as I would have liked. Probably because we were very drunk hahaha.

Anyway, tonight should be a bit of a flashback for everyone. I'm hoping every person who used to come out to the BDW, Trendy Kids shows, comes out to support and reminisce together. Different venues usually change the mood a lot. Especially since I know at least for me, when I walk into moon over marin i'll be thinking to myself; just over a year ago we were all getting ready, calling each other "are you going tonight? man, I can't believe this is it tonight, we gotta give'r...yeah..see you there..bye"
Arriving and swinging the big door open and going "upstairs, embassy, patio or whippet first? ....upstairs!" And off to the mecca we traveled. It was cold as fuck, and everyone was there already half in the bag, or fully depending on how you wanted the night to go out. Thankfully there was still some gear kicking and we were able to pay music.

Ha ha, I've already written about that night. I forget and remember parts of it. Except the girls bathroom flooding that part always sticks. Well, I'm hoping for the best tonight, but life has indeed changed since just a year ago. We will see who creeps out of the woodwork for this show. I always picture a big gathering followed by the cue of music like a bob dylan song or "drink to me" by keith whittaker, unfortunately life isn't like the movies hahah. I will dream it like that anyway.

Regardless, I look forward to this. Especially 'All the trendy kids' and 'BDW'.

A few more hours and we will see. I miss those days.

I'm leaving you all with this to listen to, and think of all your favorite times.
